Bangalore Palace
The Bangalore Palace was built by Rev. Garrett in 1862 to look like a smaller replica of the Windsor Castle in England. In 1884, it was bought by the the King of Mysore, Chamaraja Wodeyar, and its construction completed in 1944 .The sprawling grounds surrounding the palace, popularly known as Palace Grounds, can accommodate a large number of people and hence is a popular choice for public assembly. These grounds have also been used to hold music concerts by popular international bands.
Tipu's Summer Palace
Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace is located in heart of Bangalore City. Its construction was begun by Haider Ali and completed by Tipu Sultan in 1789.
This majestic structure is completely built with teak wood.
It served as guest house for Tipu Sultan during summer.
Lal Bagh Gardens
Lal Bagh is a 240 acre garden located in south Bangalore. It was commissioned in 1760 by Haider Ali, the ruler of Mysore.
The place was� created on the lines of the popular Mughal gardens during his time. Hyder Ali's son, Tipu Sultan, added horticultural wealth to them by importing trees and plants from several countries.
Over 1800 species of tropical, sub tropical, medicinal and floral plants can be found at the garden. Flower shows are organized during Republic Day and Independence Day weeks every year.
Nandi Temple
The Nandi Temple was built at Basavangudi in the Kempe Gowda period in 1537 .
The temple is exclusively for the worship of a sacred bull known as Nandi.
The temple is named after the large granite Nandi monolith placed on a plinth in the temple shrine which has blackened from years of being rubbed with charcoal and oil.
ISKON Temple Complex
ISKCON Bangalore temple is a famous Vaishnav temple located a Rajajinagar.
It was built in 1997 and is the largest ISKCON temple in the world.
It has been visited by more than 5.1 million visitors. It provides free food to those in need.
